The Department of Educational Foundations is one of the pioneer departments in the School of Education It specializes in offering professional courses to students and teacher trainees to have a teaching philosophy to mentor and play an active role in inculcating independent thinking in students..
Hence they become informed individuals in a variety of areas, such as citizenship, cultural awareness and some general knowledge of world around them.
The department seeks to challenge educators to develop an understanding of the theoretical, conceptual and policy related underpinnings of the educational enterprise and its various curriculum and instructional approaches.
Teachers, school administrators and other related professionals are challenged to these ends through the Educational Foundations undergraduate and graduate course sequence in philosophy and history, development and individual difference, and educational psychology.
